About Aquarium Internships
Internships are a great way to explore your environmental and ocean interests in depth while providing the aquarium with much needed assistance.

Santa Monica Pier Aquarium internships are available throughout the year to interested adults seeking environmental experience or college credit. Qualified individuals are assigned to specific projects working along side experienced aquarium staff.

Internships are unpaid, but all necessary training is provided. Prior marine science knowledge is not required but always appreciated. Those selected to be an intern must also complete the six-part aquarium volunteer training.

Interns are required to commit to at least 8-10 hours per week. If you want to get involved but are unable to work for that amount of time, you can still help out by being an aquarium volunteer or explore Heal the Bay's main office internships.
